Played my first show in Los Angeles last night since moving here. It was fun, my friends Blaire and Valerie (who were visiting LA from Utah) came and brought some people. Then after the show this photo was taken.
Last night Hi My Name Is Ryan gave a history lecture on the trunk space at the close of the indie 500 festival. It didn’t hit me until I was about to close the performance with an acapella cover of “hello, goodnight” that, this is the last time I’ll be able to do this here. Chills ran over my body and I started to cry. It wasn’t sadness though, it was tears of appreciation and thankfulness. It was really cool and special to me and I know a lot of other people feel the same.
Here is a video of us covering Demi Lavato’s song “confident”. It was filmed back in November of 2015. We filmed it for America’s Got Talent because they wanted us to be on the show. They told us “we want to see if you can handle covering a modern pop song”…
After we sent them this video, they stopped returning our calls & emails.

This is a collage I made for an art show that’s going up this Friday at a liquor store in Tempe called Taste of Tops. The art show is all about water conservation and draining a man made lake by ASU in Tempe.
For more info on draining the lake go here. This is my friends youngest kid. His name is geno and this is his first school picture. In it he is wearing a shirt that has one of my old aquabat shirts sewn onto it.
We have a lot to be thankful this week - especially the release of episode #19. This week Phoenix creatives JRC and Diana Welsch along with Ryan Avery join hosts Jeff Cardello and Rick Larsen for a discussion about everyone's favorite material - glass! Grab your board and get ready... In each episode a topic is taken at random–I pulled GLASS from their stack–and the assembled crew riff on the chosen subject for about an hour. WMSR is a great podcast, I enjoy it on road trips, waking up on weekend mornings, and while waiting in line at the DMV especially. It’s different from other shows of the type, in that it feels more like a laconic NPR style call in show, with the humor and insight more breezy and constructive, rather than the “go for the laugh and outdo each other” style a lot of other humor podcasts go for.
That unstoppable duo known as Drunk & Horny stopped by the Reading Room of YabYum HQ and performed a couple songs. Jackets were swapped, Guinness was drank, good times and sing-a-longs were had. For more features, visit yabyumwest.com
Here are the posters I just made for the Phoenix dates for the Yairms / Alhhla tour. Here is the info for the two shows.
Here is a great photo of Douglas Patton during his bizarre one-man Fathers Day show at The Trunk Space last weekend.
